Western Sydney International Airport Noise Insulation Program

The Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) Noise Insulation Program will help reduce aircraft noise levels around eligible areas.

The new 24-hour, curfew-free WSI airport will result in aircraft overflight noise to surrounding residents and communities. The WSI Noise Insulation Program has been designed to help address the impacts of aircraft overflight noise to those properties most impacted within the eligibility area.

The program is one of several measures identified in the WSI Airspace and flight path design Environmental Impact Statement to address the impacts of WSI’s flight paths and has been developed using the feedback gathered through public consultation on the draft Environmental Impact Statement.

The program delivers noise treatments, at no cost to landowners, to reduce aircraft noise levels inside eligible homes and other noise‑sensitive buildings – such as schools, childcare centres, health and medical facilities and places of worship – within the program eligibility area.

The Noise Insulation Program is now open for applications by landowners within the program’s eligibility area. The program will run for 3 years, and the application period will remain open for 2 years – until April 2028. Participation in the program by eligible landowners is entirely voluntary.
