Local Government Ministers' Forum

The Local Government Ministers' Forum (LGMF) facilitates intergovernmental collaboration on matters affecting the more than 500 local government bodies across Australia.

Chaired by the Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories the Hon Kristy McBain MP, the LGMF provides an opportunity for ministers from all Australian jurisdictions as well as the president of the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA) to discuss and collaborate on issues impacting local governments.

To support the work of the LGMF, the forum meets at least twice a year. Ministers work together to enable collaborative action and discuss reform opportunities within the local government sector.
