Site Investigation
- JBS&G are the contaminated land specialist leading the Program investigation at Devonport Airport.
- Senversa are currently engaged to audit the investigation in accordance with the Tasmanian EPA audit system.
- The investigation at Devonport Airport commenced in early 2026.
- The investigation will examine potential sources of PFAS contamination at the airport, as well as possible migration pathways to receptors both on and off the airport site.
- To support the review of key investigation reports and plans, an Investigation Consultation Forum (ICF) has been formed. The ICF members include the department, the contaminated land specialist, the accredited contamination land auditor, the Airport and relevant state agencies.
- Participation in the Program is voluntary. Devonport Airport formalised its involvement by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department on 31 March 2025.

Where is the Investigation up to?
- Lead consultants are currently collating site information and drafting the preliminary site investigation report.
Next Steps
- The Preliminary Site Investigation will inform the need for further investigations and/or development of a management plan.
