ROVER Release 11 launch date

ROVER Release 11 went live on Wednesday 10 June 2026.

What changed in ROVER Release 11?

  • New RAV validation: When submitting a vehicle for RAV entry via the concessional pathway, the 'Authorised by name' must match the recorded authorised vehicle verifier (AVV) approval holder name, including case, and the associated AVV approval must be in force.
  • Requesting a RAV correction: ROVER includes a new RAV corrections landing page and revised form for submitting correction requests. The process has been streamlined—users will only need to complete one form for all RAV corrections because we have removed the distinction between key and non-key fields. AVVs will need to submit correction requests using the same form on the RAV page, rather than the AVV page.
  • Motive power fields: The motive power field options are the same across all ROVER applications.
  • Second stage vehicle type approval applications: The format to enter the first stage approval number will be 'VTA-XXXXXX' in an application. If it does not match this format or an existing approval, ROVER will return an error. Users will not be able to continue with the application until it has been fixed.
  • Storage of supporting documents: ROVER stores only a single authoritative version of each unchanged supporting document for approved variation applications, while retaining all new or updated documents, including system-generated records.
  • Authority to act expiry notifications: ROVER will send users 2 email reminders – one 6 weeks and one 7 days before their authority expires. ROVER will also send an email when an authority has expired.
