Part 34 of the Transport Standards requires the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development, in consultation with the Attorney-General, to review the efficiency and effectiveness of the Transport Standards within 5 years of them taking effect, with subsequent reviews to be undertaken every 5 years.
The reviews must consider whether discrimination has been removed as far as possible, according to the requirements for compliance set out in Schedule 1; and any necessary amendments to the Transport Standards.
Since the release of the Transport Standards there have been three reviews—the 2007 Review, the 2012 Review and the 2017 Review.
Public consultation for the 2022 Review of the Transport Standards was open until 30 June 2023. The review report will be released in late-2023. For more information, see the 2022 Review page.
