ICF Slalom World Championships Sydney 2025

The International Canoe Federation (ICF) Slalom World Championships 2025 was held from 29 September – 4 October 2025 at the Penrith Whitewater Stadium, in New South Wales.

For the first time in 20 years, the Championships returned to Penrith, attracting more than 230 paddlers from 41 nations competing for medals across 12 events.

This major international competition showcased Australia’s ability to host world-class sporting events. It also provided an opportunity for local communities to experience elite sport up close.

Key Event Moments

The home crowd witnessed outstanding performances from the Australian team, including:

  • Bronze – Men’s C1 (Kaylen Bassett)
  • Bronze – Women’s K1 (Kate Eckhardt)

Olympic champion Noemie Fox together with dual Olympian Lucien Delfour, carried the flag for Australia at the opening ceremony.
