Mr Eric Russell Hutchinson
On 23 February 2017, Eric Russell Hutchinson was announced as the Administrator of the Territory of Norfolk Island for a two year term commencing on 1 April 2017.
On 23 February 2019, it was announced that the Governor-General had agreed to reappoint Eric Hutchinson as Norfolk Island Administrator for an additional term of two years.
Mr Hutchinson represented the electorate of Lyons in Tasmania in Federal Parliament from September 2013 to July 2016 and worked closely with communities including those dependent on agriculture and tourism adjacent to World Heritage listed properties.
Prior to his parliamentary service Mr Hutchinson had a long career in agribusiness, including senior positions in regional branding, business development and marketing.
Mr Hutchinson was an advisor to the Senate President from 2016 until his appointment as Administrator.
