BACs were obtained for 213 adult pedestrians who were admitted to an Adelaide hospital between August 1985 & July 1987. Almost 2/3 of the pedestrians were male, and males had a higher rate per 10,000 pop. of admission to hospital than female pedestrians.

An intensive on-scene study of crashes on rural roads outside of towns was carried out from June 1986 to July 1987 in an area of roughly 100 kilometres radius around Adelaide, South Australia.

CR 79: Review of in-depth crash research (1988)

Reports of in-depth crash studies from Australia, UK, Europe and the USA were reviewed. Successful studies were found to have defined and explicit objectives, a sound statistical design, appropriate analysis, and a substantial report which was related to the objectives of the study.
