Description of community needs:

The Low Head region has reported mobile coverage black spots following the transition to 4G/5G and the closure of the 3G network. This is a concern for both residents and the thousands of tourists who visit the area’s attractions.

Reliable mobile coverage is essential for local businesses to operate effectively and for ensuring the safety of residents and visitors. Limited communication infrastructure may also pose challenges during natural disasters, potentially affecting emergency response and public safety.

Proposal:
Investigate and improve mobile infrastructure or tower placement to enhance signal strength and address this persistent black spot.

Community Location: Worrigee – Northwood Drive, Kiola

Description of community needs:

The home at Northwood Drive, Kioloa reports has no inside mobile phone reception and variable reception outside. Others in the street and nearby streets also have unreliable reception. This reception fails completely during peak times.

The system cannot cope with the number of seasonal visitors to the area. There should be no misunderstanding that the tower installed on the ANU site is totally inadequate.

The have in-home VoIP but this is not a substitute for broader regional mobile coverage.
