Community Location:
Jerrys Plains to Bylong Valley Way via Bureen and Yarrawa Roads
Description of community needs:
This area is in the south-east and south of Muswellbrook Shire and the west of Singleton Shire. Yarrawa Road was a detour for heavy and other vehicles in 2022 when there was damage to the Goulburn River Bridge at Sandy Hollow after an oversized heavy vehicle damaged the structure. The area is characterised by farm businesses which involves vehicles moving livestock and farm supplies such as hay and fodder. The poor reception along Yarrawa Rd creates safety risks and disrupts communication as the area is relatively remote from emergency services. This nomination is supported by feedback from local residents and Council Operational Teams.
