In Australia during the 12 months to the end of December 2007, there were:
- 177 deaths from crashes involving articulated trucks, up 5.4 per cent on the previous 12 months
- 58 deaths from crashes involving heavy rigid trucksa
- 23 deaths from crashes involving buses, up 27.8 per cent on the previous 12 months.
