About the package

Delivered by a number of departments, the $106.0 million Tasmanian Jobs and Growth Package is an initiative which complements the Australian Government's Economic Growth Plan for Tasmania - a package of measures aimed at stimulating Tasmania's economy by supporting growth and employment.

The Australian Government has committed $222.3 million to the Regional Jobs and Investment Packages (RJIP) to help regions in Australia diversify their economies, stimulate long-term economic growth and deliver sustainable employment.

Ten pilot regions have been chosen to be a part of the RJIP. These regions have much untapped potential which, if unlocked could lead to new sources of growth, economic diversity and the opportunity to pursue export markets. RJIP aims to support these regions to meet the opportunities that will help to secure their economic future.

About the Program

The Regional Growth Fund will provide grants of $10 million or more for major transformational projects which support long-term economic growth and create jobs in regions, including those undergoing structural adjustment.

Selection of projects will be undertaken in two stages. Stage One required the submission of an Initial Application for competitive assessment. Stage Two is for the submission of a Full Business Case.

Initial Applications closed on 27 April 2018.

About the program

The Murray-Darling Basin Regional Economic Diversification Program (MDBREDP) has committed $72.65 million to assist Basin communities increase economic diversification and adjust to a water constrained environment.

Each of the Basin States of New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland selects projects within their jurisdictions in consultation with the Minister for Regional Development.

About the fund

The National Stronger Regions Fund (NSRF) invests in infrastructure projects which deliver economic benefit and address disadvantage.

There will be no further funding rounds under this program.

About the program

The Stronger Communities Programme (SCP) provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 to community organisations and local governments for infrastructure projects that deliver social benefits for local communities.

The input of the community is a key element of the SCP. Projects are selected by Members of Parliament (MPs) and their community consultation committees, and are then submitted to the Government for assessment.

The SCP has committed funding to over 17,400 community–based projects across Australia.
