ROVER uses multifactor authentication, which means you need to sign in to ROVER using a password and 6-digit code sent in a text message to your mobile (cell) phone. This process is available to users globally.

Signing in using multifactor authentication helps protect against unauthorised people accessing your ROVER account using your identity. Please note, you will need to update your ROVER password every 365 days.

Qantas will continue to deliver air passenger services for Norfolk Island until 30 June 2022, due to the impacts of the current COVID-19 outbreak.

With the ongoing spread of COVID in Australia and suspension of the Trans-Tasman quarantine-free travel zone, Air New Zealand is unable to base crews serving Norfolk Island in Australia and therefore cannot operate passenger services to Norfolk Island from 30 August 2021 as planned.

I am pleased to advise that on 12 August 2021, the New South Wales (NSW) Government has agreed to the Australian Government's proposal to seek a license from the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to use the NSW curriculum on Norfolk Island for 2022 and 2023. The license is expected to be in place before the end of 2021, when NSW ceases education services on Norfolk Island.

The Australian Government is funding the Norfolk Island Regional Council (NIRC) to deliver a package of financial assistance for Norfolk Island businesses affected by the current COVID-19 outbreak and travel restrictions.

The current COVID-19 situation across the eastern states of mainland Australia is causing substantial disruptions to the domestic tourism sector, including on Norfolk Island. The new relief scheme will support our local businesses hit hard by the downturn in visitors caused by widespread lockdowns and travel restrictions.

On 10 March following a significant rock fall on Christmas Island, temporary fencing was installed within areas of Kampong as a safety precaution with specialist expert risk assessments carried out.

The area is considered safe for the fencing to now be removed, with a small area between the rock berms behind Kampong to remain fenced off.
