Reform of the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (Transport Standards)

Access to public transport is critical for people to work or study, visit family and friends, and access critical services such as healthcare. This is why the Australian Government  has decided to reform the Transport Standards. The reforms aim to improve public transport accessibility and remove discrimination against people with disability. The reforms were developed in collaboration with people with disability, the public transport industry and state and territory governments.

How is my personal and commercial information in ROVER managed?

Personal information

Collecting personal information such as name and contact information has been considered under the Privacy Act 1988 and the department's Privacy Policy as necessary to administer the provisions of the Road Vehicle Standards (RVS) legislation, including to assess and make decisions on applications.

Personal contact information is also collected to maintain communication with applicants and approval holders.

Update on NI Multipurpose Health Service project

Work is continuing on the Norfolk Island Health and Residential Aged Care Service (NIHRACS) Multipurpose Health Service (MPS) project. Following extensive community consultation, Lot 44a (the vacant parcel of land adjacent to the Norfolk Island Central School) was selected along with the existing NIHRACS site to progress for consideration by the Australian Government, as part of the budget approvals process.
