The Issue

The Australian Government has committed $40 million in grants funding to improving mobile coverage at 54 target locations through a new round of the Mobile Black Spot Program (MBSP).

The Improving Mobile Coverage Round (IMCR) will provide funding to mobile network operators and mobile network infrastructure providers to deploy new mobile infrastructure to address known mobile coverage and reception issues at the target locations. The draft grant opportunity guidelines outline the eligibility criteria for participants and activities under IMCR, the proposed assessment criteria, and the application process.

We are seeking feedback on the draft guidelines for the IMCR to ensure they meet the program's objectives. You can comment on any aspect of the draft guidelines by 5pm Monday 28 November 2022.

Further information on the MBSP is available at the Mobile Black Spot Program webpage.
