In the 2025-26 Budget and Pre-Election Fiscal Outlook and in the lead-up to the 2025 Federal election the Australian Government committed funding to community infrastructure across Australia, to improve resilience, amenity, accessibility and liveability and drive economic growth in communities and broader regions.
The Government is committed to delivering funding programs that are transparent and based on clearly defined eligibility criteria and assessment processes. The Major and Local Community Infrastructure Program has been developed in line with the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles 2024 to deliver vital community infrastructure projects that represent value with relevant money and improve social and economic viability of local communities.
This is an invitation-only program. Only projects identified by the Australian Government will be invited to apply for funding.
