Guide to interim arrangements for importing a special purpose vehicle under the RVS legislation

Special purpose vehicles (SPVs) are permitted to not comply with certain Australian Design Rules (ADRs) so they can perform the special purpose for which they were designed.

This document describes what a SPV is and gives the dates and details of the interim arrangements.

Examples of SPVs include certain mobile cranes, garbage trucks, concrete pumpers and airport service vehicles.

The application pathway to use when importing a SPV is also explained.
