Amplifying Australia’s Voice in the Pacific

The Amplifying Australia’s Voice program enables broadcast rights to Australian television content to be made available to Pacific broadcast partners.

The program provides access to a range of Australian commercial TV content to participating Partner Pacific Broadcasters. Australian television programs are available to audiences in 9 Pacific nations: Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Nauru, Tonga and Samoa. This includes over 2,000 hours a year of Australian television content including lifestyle programs, news, current affairs, children’s programs, drama, reality TV and sport.

A total of 1,768 hours of Australian content was made available to Partner Pacific Broadcasters in 2021. In 2022, the available library of content increased to 2,113 hours of programming. The department provides financial assistance to make this content available.

Providing news and information content strengthens Australia’s contribution to discussion on issues of regional importance, whilst entertainment content showcases Australia’s lifestyle and culture.
