More than $30 million in funding will help improve road safety at 44 locations across Queensland.
Road safety across 44 Queensland locations will be improved with $30.2 million in Australian Government funding under the 2026–27 Black Spot program . Local councils will contribute $3.1 million towards 2 of the projects.
These 44 Black Spot projects include intersection upgrades, safer pedestrian facilities, road widening and signage and lighting infrastructure that improves safety for all road users.
The projects were recommended by the Queensland Black Spot Consultative Panel, which comprises local stakeholders to ensure nominations of the highest priority and importance to the local community are recommended for approval.
Anyone can nominate a Black Spot for consideration, including individuals, community groups and local councils.
