The series showcases how community sport helps people connect and belong.
Developed in partnership between the Australian Government and the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia, Pitch In, explores how sport can create pathways to friendship, connection and belonging.
The eight-part series hosted by comedian and entertainer Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann explores how sport brings people together across places, generations and backgrounds. The series centres community sporting clubs as vital ‘third places’ between home and work, where people form and strengthen relationships.
Through personal stories and conversations across the country, listeners hear from the volunteers who keep local clubs running. They maintain playing fields, host competitions, serve in canteens and even step in as mascots.
The series also features insights from Australian sporting legends, including Cathy Freeman AC and Timmy Duggan OAM.
