Next steps for Norfolk Island Residential Aged Care Facility

The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts has released the request for tender (RFT) for a managing contractor to progress the design and construction of the new 16-bed Residential Aged Care (RAC) facility for Norfolk Island.

The RFT follows the Invitation to register process, which was completed in February this year. Shortlisted applicants have now been invited to submit tenders in response to the RFT.

An on-island industry briefing will be held on May 15 and 16, providing prospective tenderers with an opportunity to understand the distinct environment and needs of the Norfolk Island community, and engage with local contractors.

The Department is also preparing to submit the development applications for the project to Norfolk Island Regional Council, with further updates on this critical project and opportunities for community information and engagement being released in the coming months.
