Australian news outlets can apply for a share in $67 million under the Journalism Assistance Fund.
News outlets across Australia are encouraged to apply for funding to help support journalism and news production.
The new funding is part of the government’s $67 million Journalism Assistance Fund (JAF). All Australian news publishers that publish news online are encouraged to apply for funding of up to $39,000 for each eligible full-time-equivalent journalist they employ over the 3 financial years to June 2028.
Grant guidelines are currently available on Grants Hub.
The JAF is part of the News Media Assistance Program which is helping promote media diversity, public interest journalism and a stronger and more sustainable news and media sector in Australia.
