New fact sheet details how extended relief measures will affect heavy vehicle operators in July.
From 1 April 2026 to 30 June 2026, fuel excise paid per litre was reduced from 52.6 cents to 20.6 cents. The heavy vehicle road user charge was reduced to zero for this period.
From 1 July 2026 to 2 August 2026, fuel excise will be reduced to 36.6 cents per litre. The heavy vehicle road user charge will be reduced by 16 cents per litre for this period.
Fuel is expected to be 16 cents per litre cheaper at the bowser in July.
For every 400-litre tank filled, that means around $65 in savings.
