The Australian Government has delivered a vital road safety boost, with funding announced for 45 new road projects.
45 new projects are on the way through the latest round of the Safer Local Roads Infrastructure Program (SLRIP).
The $135 million investment will help to improve key transport routes, strengthen local infrastructure and provide safer journeys for all road users.
New South Wales (22 projects), Victoria (8 projects), and Queensland (9 projects) make up the majority of projects, with other states and territories also seeing critical funding delivered.
The SLRIP is an application-based, merit-assessed, funding program, open to all state and territory governments and Local Government Authorities (LGAs).
To date the SLRIP has committed $465 million toward 169 projects, helping to save lives across the country.
