The Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program continues to support road safety improvements across Australia, with more than $107 million for 42 new projects.
Some of the successful projects that will be co-funded under the latest tranche of the program include:
- sealing a 15km section of Benanee Road in Euston, NSW
- strengthening and widening the Roma–Condamine Road in Queensland
- upgrading and sealing a 5km section of Two Tree Road at Carag Carag, Victoria
- building a new Heavy Vehicle Rest Area on Albany Ring Road, Menang Drive, Western Australia
- upgrading 7 intersections near local schools in Adelaide, South Australia
- upgrading Woolnorth Road Bridge over the Welcome River in Tasmania
- undertaking safety upgrades as part of the Thorngate Road Pavement Rehabilitation project in the Northern Territory
- upgrading 6 bridges along Sutton Road in the ACT for heavy vehicle access.

Local and state governments can apply for funding under Tranche 5 of the program – applications close 30 April 2026.
