Find out more about infrastructure, transport, communications, sport and the arts investment through the Federal Budget.
The 2026-27 Budget is supporting infrastructure, transport, regional development, communications, sport and the arts through a number of measures, including:
- $10.3 billion for transport infrastructure projects, as well as $500 million to build on the Active Transport Fund
- The $1.1 billion Cleaner Fuels Program and $1.75 billion to improve the productivity, resilience and reliability of Australia’s freight rail network
- $750 million to deliver new rounds of the Thriving Suburbs and Growing Regions programs
- $307.4 million to support our elite athletes and organisations in the lead-up to Brisbane 2032
- $51.3 million to strengthen BetStop and implement the Government’s online gambling reforms
- $22.9 million in funding for new measures to support our cultural institutions, including urgent repairs to the Australian National Maritime Museum, redevelopment of the National Film and Sound Archive nitrate facility, and marking the centenary of the opening of Old Parliament House
