Forum invites public submissions on Brisbane airspace review

The Independent Brisbane Airport Post Implementation Review Advisory Forum (the Forum) invites all community members to provide written submissions to the Forum on the Airservices Australia Post Implementation Review.

Why we want your input

The Forum wants to hear from all members of the public who are impacted by Brisbane airspace changes, whether negative or positive, on what you would like to see as outcomes of the Airservices Australia Post Implementation Review.

How you can voice your opinion

Upload or email your submission by Friday 26 November 2021, 5:00pm AEST.

What will be the outcome of this consultation?

Your submission will assist the Forum to ensure all matters raised by the community are adequately considered through the Airservices Australia Post Implementation Review.

Community representatives may be invited to speak to the Forum on their submission at a future meeting.

The Issue

The Australian Government established the Brisbane Airport Post Implementation Review Advisory Forum as a key stakeholder group to provide feedback and input to Airservices Australia’s Brisbane Airport Flight Path Changes Post Implementation Review. The Forum will directly consult with Airservices Australia at key points of the Post Implementation Review, and will provide an independent view on whether community concerns have been adequately considered.

The Brisbane Airport Post Implementation Review Advisory Forum (the Forum) invites all community members to provide written submissions to the Forum on the Airservices Australia Post Implementation Review. Submissions are welcome from all members of the public who are impacted by Brisbane airspace changes, whether negative or positive, including communities impacted by legacy runway operations.

Interaction with Airservices Australia

The Forum cannot respond to, or progress, specific noise complaints raised in submissions.

The Forum cannot direct Airservices Australia or the Australian Government to undertake any action raised in submissions, but will ensure that the community is heard and all matters raised by the community are adequately considered.

The Forum will not provide submissions received to Airservices Australia. Community members should ensure that any formal proposals for changes to the Brisbane airspace are to be submitted to Airservices Australia for consideration through the Post Implementation Review process.

The content of submissions is not restricted. However, submissions should ideally focus on issues that will be progressed through the Airservices Australia Post Implementation Review, and the results community members would like to see from the outcome of the review. Community members are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the Airservices Australia Post Implementation Review prior to making a submission.

You are welcome to provide submissions you may have previously provided to Airservices Australia or other organisations.

The Forum invites you to tell them your views on this topic.

Please include:

  • contact name
  • organisation name, if applicable
  • contact details, including telephone number, postal and email addresses
  • confirmation whether or not your submission can be made public—published—or kept confidential.

Submissions to the Forum may also be made anonymously.

Persons that represent the views of a range of community members and are interested in the opportunity to speak to the Forum about their submission should clearly indicate this as part of their submission, and must provide their contact information.

The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications, acting as Secretariat for the Forum, will receive the submissions and provide submissions to the Forum in full, including names and contact information, where this information is provided. Submissions will not be provided to any third parties, including other Australian Government agencies, without express written consent of the submitter.

Submissions will not be published on the Forum website or made publically available in any way.

The Forum may publish a document summarising the key content of all submissions received for minuting and record keeping purposes. Any summary document will be de-identified.

Submissions containing offensive, abusive or threatening language will not be considered by the Forum.
