Quality management system checklist for vehicle type approvals

Date published:

Under the Road Vehicle Standards (RVS) legislation, applications for type approval need to meet the legislative criteria of the applicant being able to ensure that the design, componentry and manufacturing process will consistently produce the type of vehicle.

The department has developed a checklist for applicants to use as an indicator of what the department expects to see to be satisfied the applicant has a quality management system (QMS) conformity of production in place. The checklist is a high-level document to assist industry and should be used at applicant’s discretion as it will not form part of the application submission.

Assessment of an application may include a confirmation that the applicant has checked their QMS against the checklist, rather than collecting a copy of the QMS.
