The Australian Government has allocated up to $43 million across 3 rounds for the On Farm Connectivity Program (the Program) to enable Primary Producers in agriculture, forestry and fisheries to extend connectivity in their fields and take advantage of connected machinery and sensor technology.
Funded through the Better Connectivity Plan for Regional and Rural Australia, Rounds 1 and 2 delivered over $30.5 million in rebates to help more than 2,900 primary production businesses boost connectivity on their farms.
Round 3
As part of the 2026–27 Budget, the Australian Government has committed $10 million for Round 3 of the Program.
Feedback received through public consultation in July-August 2025, as well as lessons from previous rounds, have informed the design of Round 3 with updates to some settings and requirements.
- Key features will be retained, such as the involvement of Approved Suppliers following an Expression of Interest (EOI) process and eligible equipment will include a range of connectivity and agriculture-technology (ag-tech) equipment.
- Key updates include prioritising rebates for eligible equipment purchased by Primary Producers who haven't participated in the Program before, rebates will be capped at $20,000 (GST exclusive), and more information will be required from all participants as part of the Program’s application and rebate processes.
Round 3 will open for applications once the EOI process is complete and Approved Suppliers have been confirmed. Full details for Round 3 will be provided in the Grant Opportunity Guidelines when released.
Information from previous rounds, including previous Lists of Eligible Equipment and Grant Opportunity Guidelines, should not be used as a reference for Round 3.
Round 3 – Expressions of Interest for suppliers – now closed
Expressions of Interest (EOI) from businesses that supply connectivity and ag-tech equipment to the agricultural sector and want to participate in Round 3 of the Program are now closed. No further EOI applications will be accepted.
We are currently assessing submitted EOI applications. Businesses that are successful following assessment will be invited to enter into an Approved Supplier Deed Poll with the department to participate in Round 3.
The Approved Supplier Deed Poll outlines Approved Supplier obligations under the Program. No amendments to the Deed Poll will be accepted.
We will continue to maintain relevant EOI materials and guidance documentation on this website for the duration of Round 3 of the Program.
