You can now apply for a testing facility approval under RVS legislation

Testing facility applicants are now able to apply for an approval as a testing facility under the Road Vehicle Standards (RVS) legislation. The RVS legislation replaces the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989 (MVSA).

Under the RVS legislation, results of testing used to demonstrate compliance with applicable national road vehicle standards for applications for type approvals, component type approvals and Model Report approvals must be obtained from approved testing facilities.

If a test facility prepared test reports while registered in the department’s Road Vehicle Certification System (RVCS), those reports will continue to be able to be used to demonstrate compliance with applicable standards if the test facility applies for, and is granted, a testing facility approval under the RVS legislation.
