Copyright provides legal protection for people who express original ideas and information in certain formats. The most common forms are writing, visual images, music and moving images.
We are responsible for managing the Copyright Act 1968 and Circuit Layouts Act 1989. We also develop Australian copyright policy and represent Australia’s interests in relation to international copyright issues.
