Stage 2 Reforms—Public Consultations

Attend a public consultation event

You can have your say about proposed reforms to the Transport Standards by registering for one of the following consultation events. Public consultations on Stage 2 reforms of the Transport Standards will be held from 17 June 2022 to mid-July 2022 and are open to everyone. We encourage people with disability, their families and carers, disability organisations, public transport operators and providers and government representatives to tell us their experiences through our open consultation events.

Webinar

Webinars are open to everyone. The online format will make sure webinars are accessible to people all over Australia, including people with disability. During the webinar you can contribute feedback. A panel of speakers, including people with disability and representatives from government, will be available to answer your questions.

The first webinar was held on 17 June 2022. Watch the video recording below:

Online community workshops

Community workshops will be held online to make sure they are accessible to people all over Australia, including people with disability. These workshops are designed for people with disability, their families and carers, disability advocates and community organisations. We encourage organisations to promote the community workshops to clients and members.
Workshops will be held between 20 June 2022 to 1 July 2022, and will run for approximately 2 hours. These workshops will cover:

  • information about the Transport Standards and what they are for
  • what you think about the proposed reforms and how they will impact you
  • how accessible public transport can be improved

Places are limited and priority will be given to people with disability, their families and carers.

Online discussion boards

Online discussion boards will take place over a number of days, and you will be asked to respond to a series of questions and to consider and discuss issues with other participants (in writing). These discussion boards will help us explore and test ideas to better understand issues and concerns associated with the reforms.

The discussion boards are open to:

  • Public transport experts and industry and / or sector representatives
  • People with disability, families and carers.
