Hi, my name is Silvia and I work for the Remote Aviation Programmes Section assisting in implementing government programmes around regional and remote aviation, including: The Airservices Australia Enroute Charges Payment Scheme, Remote Airstrip Upgrade (RAU) Programme, Remote Air Services Subsidy (RASS) Scheme and Remote Aerodrome Inspection (RAI) Programme.
My cultural background is Macedonian, English being my second language. I have a strong interest in Inclusion & Diversity in the Australian workforce. It was through this interest that I first heard about the Infrastructure Disability Engagement Alliance (IDEA).
After attending the first meeting of IDEA, I knew that I had found a group that I enjoyed being a part of and would enjoy working with. Through IDEA I was lucky enough to attend the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) Inclusions & Diversity conference in Sydney where I got to hear from inclusion and diversity experts & practitioners speak on the themes of culture, disability, age, gender, LGBTI, Indigenous employment and workforce flexibility. The conference proved to be thought provoking; listening to real-life examples of how their organisation attained results in inclusion and diversity.
I appreciate being part of IDEA's journey. I enjoy talking to those around me and sharing ideas and perspectives on systematic issues that impact on people with disability and thinking of ways to develop and promote disability confidence across the Department.
