Aiden's Story

Photo of including Aiden I joined the Department in November 2015 as part of the Stepping Into… internship programme. I am currently a member of the WA/SA team in the North West Roads Branch. My main tasks include preparing ministerial correspondence, briefings, advice and recommendations on transport infrastructure matters, and managing infrastructure projects in accordance with relevant legislation and agreements/protocols between the Commonwealth and state/territory/local governments.

I love working at the Department because the team is supportive and vibrant. There is also a real sense that what we do helps the wider community and I can go home each day with a sense of achievement. I hope to enter in to the Graduate Development Programme in 2017. My advice to anyone thinking of joining the Department would be to go for it! The work is fulfilling, the team is lovely and the experiences are second to none. The Stepping Into… programme has been one of the best experiences of my life. The support received and the opportunities that have been afforded to me have really helped me commence my career on the right foot.
