Development of the Yeppoon Town Centre Smart Precinct will provide smart LED lighting, access to free data, data capture and analytics, LORAWAN and IOT devices. This technology will benefit the community by attracting investment, creating jobs and transitioning the community into a digitally-innovative town.

The challenge

The Yeppoon Town Centre Smart Precinct will provide a showcase to the community on the capabilities of smart lighting, public Wi-Fi, data capture and analytics, LORAWAN and IOT devices.

Solution

Development of the Yeppoon Town Centre Smart Precinct will provide smart LED lighting, access to free data, data capture and analytics, a smart interactive artwork, LORAWAN and IOT devices.

Benefits

This technology will benefit the community by attracting investment, creating jobs and transitioning the community into a digitally-innovative city. The project is scalable, in particular providing a LORAWAN network that can be utilized by local business and the community.

Lessons learned

There are not many regional providers that deliver all of the components required for a complex project that has so many different components.

Outcomes

The project has completed detailed design phase and has been awarded for construction.
