Project summary
Smart Solar Trees, using Internet of Things (IoT) technology, will act as hubs for creating efficient integrated park management system and increasing safety in public parks. The Smart Solar trees, powered by solar panels, ICT linked to different sensors, telecommunications and smart software solutions will be responding to collected data and enabling automatic irrigation, forecasting park bin fill levels, triggering light sensors and surveillance equipment, providing free Wi-Fi and monitoring air quality.
The real time information available through the Alice Springs Town Council website will lead to framing better park management policies, presenting new models for integrating systems and increasing park amenities and safety for users.
