Critical Infrastructure Resilience (CIR)
The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government; Office of Transport Security (OTS) received $2.6 million over four years, from the Australian Governments budget in May 2009, to fund their role in critical infrastructure resilience.
Transport infrastructure is included among seven identified nationally significant critical infrastructure sectors to ensure the continuity of essential services in the face of all hazards events including pandemic, terrorist attacks, cyber crime and natural disasters.
OTS has established the Transport Sector Group of the Trusted Information Sharing Network (TISN) which currently includes sub groups for the surface, maritime and aviation sectors.
The Attorney-General's Department is responsible for coordinating Critical Infrastructure Resilience across the Australian Government. The link below will take you to a website dedicated to the TISN that includes work undertaken by the Transport Sector Group.
