Updated guidance material for the preparation of transport security programs by Prescribed Air Services has been developed, and is now available below.

Submitting Transport Security Programs

The Department recommends that you lodge requests for approval of new, revised or altered Transport Security Programs by email to national.coordinator@infrastructure.gov.au

Please ensure that Transport Security Programs are submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format and that any password protection has been removed prior to submission. This will ensure the Transport Security Program can be uploaded to the Department's secure database for assessment and consideration for approval.

The submission email/letter should contain the following statement:

"The Transport Security Program for [insert operator's name] is submitted for the Secretary's approval in accordance with the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004".

The email/letter should outline the changes made to your Transport Security Program. The revision or alterations should also be noted in the revision history section of your Transport Security Program.

Unscreened Prescribed Air Services

The Department's guides and templates are designed to save you time and money by providing more detailed templates which you can complete yourself. You are not obliged to use these guidance materials, however, if you use your own document format, you will need to ensure that your completed TSP complies with the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004 and the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005.

Step 1: Download the guides and materials templates below.

Step 2: Obtain an Aviation Security Risk Context Statement from your Office of Transport Security state office if you don't already have one.

Step 3: Read the Aviation Security Risk Context Statement.
Read the Guide to preparing a security risk assessment.
Using your Guide and template for developing an SRA, and your specific Transport Security Advisory, prepare your SRA, completing both parts A and B.

Step 4: Using the Guide and template for developing a TSP, prepare your TSP. Before submitting your TSP, attach your completed SRA (parts A and B).

Unscreened Prescribed Air Services TSP and SRA feedback

The Department of Infrastructure and Transport recently updated the information and tools required to develop and submit your new Security Risk Assessment (SRA) and TSP. The Department regularly reviews all procedures relating to the production, submission, and assessment of a TSP.   Your feedback will directly contribute to improving templates which will be utilised by Aviation Industry Participants across Australia.

In order to assist us to continue to improve our materials, we ask that the author of your TSP complete the attached critique and emails it to:  TSPImprovementProject@infrastructure.gov.au We thank you for your feedback and assistance.
