Aviation Security Advisory Forum

The Aviation Security Advisory Forum (ASAF) is a forum through which senior representatives from industry and government share and discuss views on aviation security matters of an operational, legal, policy and regulatory nature.

ASAF seeks to achieve, maintain and, where appropriate, improve aviation transportation security throughout Australia. ASAF oversees a series of working groups that consider issues relating to identity, cargo, training, technology, legislation and other matters relating to aviation security.

Participation in ASAF is by invitation and generally includes senior executives from major industry stakeholders, Government agencies and a representative from the Regional Industry Consultative Meeting (RICM).

ASAF meets quarterly in March, June, September and December.

ASAF is chaired by the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government with responsibility for Security.
