This scheme, which commenced on 1 January 2002, provides assistance with the payment of en route air traffic control charges to airlines providing regular public transport and aeromedical services operators in regional Australia, Eligible operators are able to claim reimbursement of the en route air traffic control charges paid to Airservices Australia for these services.
Airlines which operate Regular Public Transport (RPT) services using aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of 15 tonnes or less, excluding operations between capital cities are eligible for assistance under the Scheme. Operators of aeromedical services, such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service, are also eligible.
Airlines which operate solely within Western Australia and service single operator routes are eligible to register RPT aircraft which have a maximum take-off weight of up to 21 tonnes.
