The Advisory Committee on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (ACTDG) advises the National Transport Commission on technical and policy matters relating to the transport of dangerous goods and is a cooperative forum where stakeholders in dangerous goods are able to provide input into regulations that directly affect their operations. Members of the ACTDG and its sub-committees represent:
- State and Territory regulatory authorities;
- Road and rail transport industry;
- Dangerous goods manufacturers;
- Packaging industry;
- Air and sea dangerous goods authorities;
- Emergency services; and
- Environment protection authorities.
The primary role of ACTDG is to recommend changes to update the ADG Code and associated guidelines for the safe movement of dangerous goods and explosives within and from Australia.
