Office of Northern Australia banner image

The Office of Northern Australia (ONA) provides policy advice to the Government on sustainable development issues in, or affecting, northern Australia.

The Office of Northern Australia will enable better coordination across the Government and between governments, businesses and communities on issues affecting northern Australia.

New Developments

The $195 million East Kimberley Development Package was launched by the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd in Kununurra on 3 July 2009. The Australian Government is making investments in the region in health, education and training, housing, transport and community infrastructure.

The website of the Office of Northern Australia now includes a series of info links to help you with information on topics from northern Australia on education to health to sites on indigenous issues. We also have links to sites that may assist northern Australians in their business dealings - such as links to government departments and even to websites to help you find legislation and case law.
