Indigenous Communities
While the Department is not a major provider of programs or services to Indigenous Communities, it does have a number of programs which have links to Indigenous issues, such as:
Remote Aerodrome Inspection Program
This program provides aerodrome safety inspection services and technical advice to remote northern Australian indigenous communities that rely on air services.
Remote Air Service Subsidy Scheme
The Remote Air Service Subsidy (RASS) Scheme's objective is to provide communities in remote and isolated areas of Australia with improved access through a regular weekly air transport service for the carriage of passengers and goods.
