• National Rail Safety Regulatory Reform

  In July 2009, the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) committed to national regulators for heavy vehicles, and maritime and rail safety. The new National Rail Safety Regulator became operational from 20 January 2013, administering a single national set of rail safety laws for Australia.
