Minister Albanese's media release
The Centre's opening followed the Prime Minister's announcement in June 2009 that a consortium led by the UTS had been selected to establish the Centre following a competitive process. Consortium partners are the University of Canberra, the Australia and New Zealand School of Government, Local Government Managers Australia and the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia Limited. Program partners include the Australian National University, Charles Darwin University and Edith Cowan University.
The Centre's Board of Management also met for the second time on 14 December 2009 at UTS. Minister Albanese addressed the meeting, setting out the Australian Government's expectations of the Board's role and offering his best wishes for the Centre's future work.
