This project is funded under Nation Building and has a total Australian Government investment of $363 million.  The estimated cost of the twelve kilometre Section B upgrade is $488 million.

The Cooroy to Curra section of the Bruce Highway covers 65 kilometres and has been divided into four sections, A, B, C and D, following completion of a Recommended Corridor Report on the future realignment in June 2008. The section funded in the 2009–10 Budget is Section B:

  • Cooroy to Curra Section B—the duplication of a 12 kilometre section of the Bruce Highway to provide a four-lane divided highway replacing the existing two lanes.  Construction commenced in September 2009 and was completed in December 2012.

Further details of the Bruce Highway—Cooroy to Curra (Section B) are available on the Nation Building Program website.
