The Australian Government is reforming the governance arrangements for Norfolk Island, delivering economic stability and ensuring residents have access to essential services.

These reforms will include the introduction of taxation, social security and healthcare arrangements on Norfolk Island effective from 1 July 2016.

Reform will also involve amending the Norfolk Island Act 1979 (Cth) to transition the Norfolk Island Legislative Assembly to a Norfolk Island Regional Council.
