Review of the Airports Building Control and Environment Protection Regulations
This discussion paper [PDF: 740 KB] is the first stage of a comprehensive review of the regulatory framework for building activities and environment protection at the 19 leased federal airports.
The paper has been prepared by the Airports Branch of the Department of Infrastructure and Transport as the first stage of a review of:
- the Airports (Building Control) Regulations 1996 (the ABCR) and
- the Airports (Environment Protection) Regulations 1997 (the AEPR).
Both sets of regulations are made under the Airports Act 1996 (the Act). These regulations and the Act can be found at the Australian Government’s Comlaw website.
The Department seeks comments on the proposed amendments in this paper to learn about how they might affect businesses operating on airport sites, the local community and surrounding State and local governments.
