Project Director, National Heavy Vehicle Safety Regulation
Brisbane-Based
The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, in conjunction with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, is seeking a senior executive to implement the National Heavy Vehicle Regulation Reform Framework.
You will have an opportunity to lead national reform in heavy vehicle safety regulation and will work with Commonwealth, State and Territory jurisdictions to establish a National Heavy Vehicle Regulator by December 2012.
This is a pivotal role in the establishment of the new Heavy Vehicle Regulator's office as agreed by the Council of Australian Governments. You will be responsible to the Executives of the Commonwealth, State and Territory transport agencies.
High level representational skills, a collegiate personal style and proven political acumen are key attributes for this role. Experience in establishing an organisation is desirable.
A term of up to three years will be offered to the successful applicant and a salary package up to $250K will be negotiated, depending upon experience and qualifications.
