Applicant Kit

The Applicant Kit contains a range of useful information for applicants including:

  • an overview of the Department
  • information on how to apply
  • links to the Department’s Annual Report and Enterprise Agreement
  • information for referees if you are asked to supply referee reports at a later stage

All information collected for the purposes of potential employment will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988. Further information about the Federal Privacy Act 1988 can be viewed on the Office of the Privacy Commissioner web site.

For more information about a specific job or the Department in general, you should consult with the nominated contact officer.

Referee Kit

The Referee Kit contains information for referees including:

  • key principles for writing referee reports
  • an explanation of the rating scale for referee reports
  • the referee report template

Closing Dates

Each job has a specified closing date which is listed in eRecruit. Applications received after that date may not be considered.

Submitting an application

The Department prefers electronic lodgement of applications via eRecruit.

Where electronic lodgement is not possible, please contact the contact officer for the job to discuss other options for submitting your application. You may also contact our Recruitment Team on 02 6274 6161 for more information on the lodgement of your application.

As a part of the application process, applicants are asked to complete an application form and address the relevant selection criteria in their application. Applicants are also provided the opportunity to advise contact details for referees.

Security

Applicants are advised that all jobs with the Department are security assessed and successful applicants will need to obtain and maintain a security clearance at an appropriate level. Security clearance forms will be sent to all successful candidates with their letter of offer. These papers must be completed and returned prior to commencement in the Department.
